Detective Emma Dawn Stevens (born August 29, 1976) is the youngest of the three detectives. She was originally from England. When she was three years old her parents disappeared under mysterious circumstances. A case that is still yet to be solved today. After her parents disappearances she lived with her grandparents until tragedy struck when she turned thirteen. For a few years she wound up going from foster family to foster family and having a difficult time and not having any friends until she met her first true friend Samantha Thomas (Johnson at that point). After meeting Sam, Emma found her faith again and became more determined to become a detective to stop the villainous Lord of Crime and any other criminal that gets in her way as well as eventually solving her parents' disappearances. After graduating high school she moved to the United States. There she got trained in law enforcement and eventually got hired with the Birmingham City Police Department where she would eventually be paired up with the senior partner of the group Charles Early. Together along with her partners, despite being the youngest and least experienced, is determined to help them take down one of the world's most notorious killers and terrorists. When not working she does love to sew and as a child she loved going on fishing and hunting trips with her grandfather. She also likes to sew and make nit caps, gowns and other pieces of clothes when she does have spare time which is not often these days.

Detective Rick O'Malley  (date of birth October 31, 1970) is the second detective in the group and the last to join the case involving the Alphabet Terrorist/Lord of Crime. He is originally from Ireland. Prior to moving to the United States Detective O'Malley had worked as a traffic officer and homicide detective in England. Like Detective Stevens, Detective O'Malley did suffer a life changing event. Initially despondent he did meet a man who would eventually straighten him out and later would become his boss when the young man became a police officer. Unlike Detective Stevens, Detective O'Malley is not so much led by faith but will that attitude last? Only time will tell. Like Detective Stevens, Detective O'Malley does like the outdoors and is an avid hunter. He also does have impressive cooking skills which helps when he throws a party or has guests over.

Detective/Sergeant Charles Early (born on July 10, 1945) is the oldest and the most experienced of the detectives. He had long been an investigator before either Detective O'Malley and Detective Stevens were born. Like his two partners, Detective Early did suffer a life changing event which caused him trouble for a short time. As with Detective Stevens and O'Malley he does have a vested interest in what happens in the Alphabet Terrorist/Lord of Crime case. He tends to be the most patient of the three though the two renegade terrorist can cause him to lose his cool. He  does not talk about his private life often though since working with Detective Stevens and O'Malley he has learned to be more open and to trust others which is a critical factor in the case involving the two villains. Prior to becoming a detective Detective/Sergeant Early had been in the US Navy as a Master of Arms. Started Enlisted he eventually got commissioned as an officer before retiring and becoming a detective. He was married at one time and has two adult children with a few grandchildren.

Detective Samantha Thomas (maiden name Johnson) (born July 13, 1976) is one of Detective Steven's earliest friends. Like Detective Stevens, Detective Thomas is also from England. She met Emma during a horrendous period of time of Emma's life when she had no friends or family two. After being initially pushed away by Emma, the younger girl eventually warmed up to Samantha and the two have become inseparable since. Despite having a kind, compassionate and loving nature she also is one not to tolerate mistreatment of others. She was the one who showed Emma what true friendship was and was the one who helped Emma get back on track to becoming a detective. Though they lost communication for some time after Emma left for the US, Samantha, often called Sam by her friends, never forgot about her friend and was one of the detectives to help with the Alphabet case. She is also married and is expecting her 1st child.

Agent Harold Heath (date of birth unknown) is a ruthless black ops government agent that is sent in to try to capture the Lord of Crime and his accomplice. He is not known to show any kind of mercy or compassion to those who stand in his way. In fact in the past he has thrown people in jail, ruined careers, and even shot and killed people who got in the way. He does not hesitate to do what he thinks is necessary to capture the world's most notorious criminal the world has ever seen. This ruthlessness of his, and given the fact he has the full backing of the government does make him another dangerous adversary that the detectives have to contend with as they try to stop the Lord of Crime and his accomplice.

The Alphabet Terrorist, also known as the Lord of Crime, despite his crimes all over the world, is a man whose true identity is not known except for by a select few group of people. The only common knowledge that people seem to agree on is that the Lord of Crime was originally from England. Despite the mysteriousness that does surround the Lord of Crime the detectives know him as a man who is not to be trifled with and that when he says he will do something they expect it will occur. As the primary antagonists in Emma Stevens and the Lord of Crime, the Lord of Crime is indeed responsible for many events including events that do help bring the team of detectives together to try to stop him.

Jones, the secondary antagonist of Emma Stevens and the Lord of Crime, is a lot like the Alphabet Terrorist, aka Lord of Crime. Not much is known about him except that he himself like his boss is a career hardened criminal. Like his boss, he is not afraid of confrontations and is willing to use any means necessary including killing his victims with his bare hands in order to achieve his objectives. In many ways the detectives consider him to be as dangerous as the Lord of Crime. A good assumption indeed as he too is partly responsible for helping bring the team of detectives together.
